An exile into Paradise
Los Cristianos, the popular resort town can be found in the southwestern corner of Tenerife, in between two imposing mountains, in a protected inlet. Over the years, the quiet fishing village has become a very popular tourist destination. In Los Cristianos quiet relaxation is still possible, it was able to keep its traditional atmosphere and historic architecture, despite modern hotels being built. There are a few nightclubs here, but the nightlife is incomparable with Playa de Las Americas.
There are plenty of options for daytime relaxation too: you can try out almost any water sport on the two fine, golden sandy beaches of Los Cristianos. The harbour of Los Cristianos is one of the most important ports in the Canary Islands open to passengers, as it connects the islands of La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma. This one of the most popular locations for sailors wanting to relax and sunbathe, while also staying close to the turistical points of interest, and being able to hop over to one of the neighbouring islands if they wish.
Most people visit the southwest of the island, going to the resorts of Playa de Las Americas, Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje; the best and most equipped beaches can also be found in the south of the island, in this area the beaches mostly have yellow sand, the black sand beaches are more common in the north. Down south the weather is nicer, but the northern parts are more authentic and peaceful.
Tenerife offers many attractions, and whoever decides to come here, will leave with an experience that they will never forget, and it’s very likely that they will return to the "Island of never-ending spring".
